I ran eight miles yesterday. That's almost one-third of the way to my goal.

Here's the thing about running a marathon: I KNOW I can do it ... but I don't actually BELIEVE I can do it. If that makes sense.

26.2 miles is FAR, you guys. Humans can't do that! (Is what I believe. Even though I've seen it. Even though I know people who've done it.)

I mean, 10 years ago, I never would have thought I could run eight miles. Or three. Or one.

This, though ... this is something else. The marathon, man. I am a little shocked by my own audacity even thinking I might pull this off.

First official training run is tomorrow. Four miles. Detach from the outcome; commit to the process.

This weekend, I'll run 11 miles. We are fast approaching the "more miles than I've ever run at once in all my 10 years in the sport" mark.
Just keep going.
