Heirloom cherry tomatoes ...
... sweet basil, and ...
... oyster mushrooms! (OK, the mushrooms are a little hard to see.)
Finding myself actually awake and dressed before noon on a Sunday, I decided to walk over to the farmers' market (in
Hyde Park, to be known henceforth as
Oakley near) to see what I could see. $9.50 got me this lovely produce, which I am bound and determined to use before it spoils for once. (Wilting bunch of kale in the fridge, this is for
you.)

EPIC KALE!
Failkale?
You can stir-fry kale in a little bacon grease and wilt it even more -- in the most delicious way! OK, you can use olive oil.
I'm guilty of letting things go bad before I use them. I'm trying to be better about making a plan to use them as soon as I get home. But even then, sometimes I forget!
Hey, I'm hosting a Farmer's Market Report. Maybe you'd like to submit this post? Come on over and check it out: http://toeverymeal.blogspot.com/2008/08/farmers-market-report-august-23rd.html
Hey, thanks, Kerry! I'm actually planning another post or two where I describe what I did with the food. Perhaps I'll submit them all together.
A really great source for farmer's market information in my area is Cincinnati Locavore. If you're looking for more farmer's market posts for your blog, definitely check her out.
Your veggies look amazing! I love farmer's markets! I can't wait to meet you next time you are in Columbus!
